Since 2008 Jerry Calote has concentrated on developing a contemporary style of landscape painting where evocation of mood plays a greater role in the art piece. This work is once again more repesentational and less conceptual.  Simplicity of design has taken over where previous work was often constructed on complex line compositions. Capturing the aesthetics and forms of nature through color and light representation and creating a progressive style of landscape have become the current focus.
